For another $10,000-to-win A-Main on Tuesday, Shirley grabbed the third-and-final transfer spot in his heat, which positioned him 18th on the starting grid for the feature. Running into the more trouble in the 40-lapper, Brian was an early exit on the 19th circuit.
On Thursday evening at All-Tech Raceway (Lake City, Fla.) for the General Tire Winter Nationals, Brian secured his spot into the main event with a fourth-place finish in his heat. With $10,000 on the line, Shirley clawed forward one spot in the 40-lap affair to finish 15th.
After Friday’s program fell to Mother Nature, Shirley jumped up one spot in his heat on Saturday to finish third. Starting the $15,000-to-win finale in 12th, Brian carried a steady pace throughout the 50-lapper to cross the line in 12th.
