Heavy rain showers postpone Alabama Gang 100 to September
Losing Thursday's event at Thunderhill Raceway (Summertown, Tenn.), Brian Shirley started his weekend with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series on Friday afternoon at Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.) for the Alabama Gang 100.
With 48 Super Late Models on the grounds, Shirley was unable to get a good qualifying lap which pinned him at the back of the first preliminary feature. With just 25-laps to work with, Brian gained seven positions to finish 11th.
With the $35,000-to-win main event slated for Saturday, Brian finished second in his heat race and was slated to first 13th in the feature. Unfortunately, prior to the 75-lap main event, a heavy rain shower engulfed the racetrack. The event was rescheduled to September 15th.
Shirley is currently 10th in the World of Outlaw point standings.
