Brian Shirley races into 54th-annual World 100; pair of Top-10 finishes in prelim action

Pulling into Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) a day early, Brian Shirley unloaded his Bob Cullen Racing No. 8S machine on Wednesday afternoon for the $20,000-to-win Castrol FloRacing Night in America event.

Getting buried in qualifying, Shirley elected to not participate in the remainder of the evening and turned his focus to the preliminary nights ahead. Sporting a wrap that honors Scott Bloomquist, Brian recorded a pair of Top-10s with a sixth-place outing on Thursday before finishing eighth in his prelim feature on Friday.

On the front-row of the sixth heat race on Saturday, Shirley grabbed the final transfer spot and started the $57,000-to-win finale. Pulling off 77 laps into the 100 lapper, Brian recorded a 21st-place finish.
